My name is Lucy Ana Krasno and I am 60 years old. I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 1964 after being in a Diabetic coma for three days. I am a writer and have worked in the Medical Field and for different Business Corporations over the years. I don’t know what it’s like NOT to have Diabetes, since I’ve had it so long. All the credit for my care started with my mother and grandmother who were instrumental in my caregiving when I was growing up. I was taught that I could accomplish anything I wanted with Diabetes, and I am still here doing so.
I was born in Argentina and I live in France. I am an Engineer and a globetrotter, I love sports and languages! Pierre and I got married 4 years ago and he is the best T3D I could ever ask for!
Since my work revolves around diabetes I’m very interested in this topic. When I’m either not running my business or spending time with my partner and kids, I’m learning about different kinds of wine from Italy!
Besides being a type 1 diabetic I’m a commercial manager of the professional basketball team Stella Artois Leuven Bears. Basketball, sneakers, and food are my greatest passions. I’m also a participant in Married At First Sight 2021 Belgium.
I have been a type 2 diabetic for over 6+ years now working as a graphic designer during the day and a Postcrossing illustrator on the weekends. I like to listen to songs with poetic meaning and am often lost visualizing them, hoping someday I can be an art director. In an alternate universe, I would like to be a polyglot who happens to be a kick-ass dancer.
I’m a serial entrepreneur from Singapore. I didn’t grow up with diabetes. I got it from stress that lead to anxiety and after that a burnout. I didn’t hide it, it’s also part of my family history. It was hard for me. I live alone and I manage my business, finance and medical health expenses with the support of government subsidies.
It all started from doing hard work. Who would think doing hard work leads to all these? Back in the year, I had a few clients works to be done, datelines were back to back, I had many big projects to deal with and also dealing with some toxic connections with people.
I am a Type 1 diabetic blogger, a content creator, writer, personal trainer and in the process of becoming a Nutritionist. The aim of everything I do is to prove that Type 1 diabetics can live life to the full, eat what they love, and have good control of the condition. I do this by encouraging T1s to learn to manage the foods they love with better lifestyle and nutrition choices. I promote a balanced lifestyle, where there is space for both health and tasty pleasures.
I’m a ginger actor and comedian. I am currently studying a postgraduate degree in acting at the academy of live and recorded arts. I was a former maths teacher graduating from Warwick University.I did not grew up with diabetes.
I am from Boston, Massachusetts but I have lived in Mexico since 1998. I am a preschool teacher. I didn’t grow up with my diabetes. Emotionally it was much harder than financially. I went from being an active woman to a shell of myself.
I am a certified personal trainer and nutritionist, author and speaker. None of these things would have ever been possible without type 1 diabetes, which has allowed me to see the silver lining in some of life’s most difficult times and remain grateful.
I have been living with type 1 diabetes for 11 years now! I am a professional dancer and choreographer and the founder of The Diabesties Foundation! When not working on diabetes or dance, you can find me reading, listening to music or writing!
