I am a Type 1 diabetic blogger, a content creator, writer, personal trainer and in the process of becoming a Nutritionist. The aim of everything I do is to prove that Type 1 diabetics can live life to the full, eat what they love, and have good control of the condition. I do this by encouraging T1s to learn to manage the foods they love with better lifestyle and nutrition choices. I promote a balanced lifestyle, where there is space for both health and tasty pleasures.

I grew up with my type one diabetes during my teenage years and I never felt the need to hide it. As I was staying away from my family to continue my college, it was necessary for me to be vocal about my situation. In case if I need any help from others in any emergency situation. With all the ups and downs, my diabetes management has changed a lot over the last 11 years.

We are sisters and type 1 Diabetics. Margaret was diagnosed at 11 years old and has had type 1 diabetes for 11 years. Anna was diagnosed at 21 years old and has had type 1 diabetes for 4 years. We grew up in South Carolina and are super fortunate to have both parents in the medical field who somewhat understood type 1 diabetes whenever Margaret was first diagnosed. Margaret had been a type 1 diabetic for 8 years whenever Anna was diagnosed so we were able to help each other and learn more together.
I’m a copywriter, a content planner and a creative project coordinator. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 20 years old.
Emotionally, it was tough. I couldn’t come to terms with a sudden “lifelong, chronic condition without a cure”. I especially hated the prospect of injecting myself multiple times a day for the rest of my life. I also struggled to accept that even if I followed the guidelines, correct behaviour and protocols, I wouldn’t be necessarily improving, let alone curing my condition. I would just be maintaining or preserving my health. It seemed a lot of work just to stay ‘normal’.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in February 2020. I currently work in IT where I specialize in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. I love meeting new people, sports, and the outdoors. Ever since being diagnosed I have connected and interacted with many T1D’s who are supportive and it allows me to see how other people deal with it. It has given me the confidence to share my T1D journey.
